The hotel, which has grown over centuries from a small farm, is quietly situated above Zug and yet close to the city, with a wonderful view of the lake, city and mountains, bears the charm of many generations of family history, has been brought into the present day again and again and modernised with consideration for the fact that there is history and stories in many things. Due to the various additions from many eras, the Guggital has different categories of rooms.

Guggtital's hotel rooms have all been lovingly renovated and equipped with a new lighting concept and mattresses.

The rooms in the newer part of the house all have elevator access, lake and mountain view or lake and city view, mostly balcony, free wi-fi, safe, powerful hairdryer and new, comfortable mattresses. There is a well-stocked drinks/snack/vending machine in the hotel lobby.

In this part of the house there are single rooms, twin rooms, double rooms, triple rooms (3rd bed 90*200, full size bed with slatted frame), quadruple rooms (4th bed sofa bed 90*190 cm with high quality topper (Tencel cover) for best sleeping comfort). An additional baby cot (free of charge) is possible in almost every room category.

The rooms and bathrooms are lovely, freshly renovated and equipped with high-quality pocket spring mattresses according to the latest technology.

The house consists of two floors. As there is no lift and no balcony and some floors are not quite straight, these charming rooms are cheaper.

There are 6 rooms here with beautiful lake and city views. 6 rooms have no lake view (the view of seasonal flowers is also quite nice). All rooms have free wifi, safe, powerful hairdryer and new pocket spring mattresses with Tencel cover.

There is a well-stocked drinks/snack/vending machine on the ground floor (more choice can be found in the snack machine on the ground floor, to the right of reception).

We have a large number of parking spaces (free of charge), a bus stop in front of the house (line 11, Guggital, direct bus connection to Casino, public, free swimming baths Zugersee (Seeliken)(5 minutes), old town Zug, centre Zug, railway station (9 minutes), Messe/Bossardarena, Schönegg/valley station Zugerbergbahn (5 minutes)), large children's playground with trampoline, merry-go-round, seesaws and swings.

We have banquet facilities and meeting rooms.

We are happy to welcome you to our high-quality a la carte restaurant. In the warmer months we offer perhaps the most beautiful garden restaurant in Zug under old chestnut trees with a magnificent lake view.

Dogs in the hotel

Well behaved dogs are welcome for a small additional fee (CHF 20.00 per night). Although our rooms are spacious, we do not allow more than one dog per room. When booking, let us know that you are traveling with a dog. We are only able to place your dog in the hotel room if the dog is also pre-registered.

Please do not let your dog do or mark its business in the house, in the guest garden or on Guggital's green areas (park/children's playground).
Even if you remove your dogs feces, we ask that you respect this.
Around the Guggital you will find countless natural walking paths that your dog will love!

Room prices are inclusive of breakfast, wifi, parking and VAT.
The tourist tax is charged separately.

A snack/drink/tobacco vending machine (cash) is located in the hotel lobby and a snack/drink vending machine (smaller) (cash) is located on the first floor (hotel room on the restaurant side).
